FAVIA 225 confirms Dr. Parvez Dara as a guest speaker

Dr. Parvez graduated first place in a class of 1,800 from King Edward Medical College with honors, a 4.0 GPA He successfully passed the ECFMG and earned his MD degree.

He did his internship at St. John Hospital and did his residency in Detroit, Michigan, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He did his Medical Oncology/Hematology Oncology fellowship at the VA Hospital at the University of California, at Irvine. He stayed on for an additional year to work in research in human tumor cloning and chemo-sensitivity assays, before returning to New Jersey to work in private practice, where he worked for nearly thirty years, during which time he served in many positions of leadership in the local Saint Barnabas health care system, as well as an educator and lecturer for the pharmaceutical companies. Parvez decided to get his MBA and pursue his interest in medical education, and he received his MBA with honors from Rutgers University in 2014.

He is extremely interested in educating his peers in medicine, redefining the future in Biotechnology and Precision Medicine with the latest innovations in the field, their impact on patient care and benefit. His ultimate focus remains in the defining, expanding and educating others in the knowledge and expertise of molecular biology, medicine and Aviation Safety.

He continues his interests in aviation. He is a 6-time Master Certified Flight Instructor and holds an Airline Transport Pilot and Advanced Ground Instructor rating. He has been recognized by his peers as Philadelphia FSDO CFI of the year. He is recognized by the FAA for his external service. He is deeply involved in Aviation Safety to save lives. He is a former Senior Aviation Medical Examiner. He currently serves as Director on two Not for profit (501 c,3) Aviation Organizations; MAPA Safety Foundation, involved in Mooney Aircraft Pilot Recurrent Training and SAFE an educational organization that serves aviation and the STEM programs nationwide. He gives seminars for the FAA Safety Team at various locations on a consistent basis.
