Venue and Philadelphia Tourism

On the doorstep of America’s birthplace and the birthplace of aviation in the United States, FAVIA 225 and the 2018 BFA Convention will be hosted at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing on the Delaware River.  Just six blocks from Jean-Pierre Blanchard’s launch site in 1793, this waterfront hotel offers views of historic downtown Philadelphia and New Jersey with easy access to our country’s most treasured historic sites. Philadelphia is the first to be designated a World Heritage City in the United States by the Organization of World Heritage Cities and Lonely Planet declared Philadelphia the #1 ‘Most Exciting Place to See in the U.S’ in 2016. According to Fodor Travel’s Go List 2016, Philadelphia is one of ‘25 Incredible Destinations’ from Across the Globe.

dsc_0027Philadelphia has also been rated the 4th ‘Most Walkable City in America’ by Redfin, so while you’re in Philadelphia, visit the Liberty Bell Center, Independence Hall, the National Constitution Center and Old City, all located within walking distance of the hotel.  As one of the Top 17 Food Cities of 2015 (Zagat) the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing is close to many great restaurants. Don’t forget to sample local favorites like Philly cheesesteaks, Philadelphia pretzels and Tastykakes! If you’re fortunate enough to spend extra time in the city, consider visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Franklin Institute, the Philadelphia Zoo and Zooballoon, Boathouse Row, Italian Market, Reading Terminal or other area attractions. You might even consider a trip through Deptford, NJ (Blanchard’s landing site in 1793) on your way to the New Jersey shore!
